How to Use a Wine Cooler

Using a wine cooler is incredibly simple, and although the specifics will vary from one model to another, especially considering how advanced some of the coolers are these days the basics tend to remain the same.

All you usually have to do is put some ice in the cooler, and then put your bottles of wine in – the amount you will be able to fit will obviously depend on the size of cooler you choose – and then close the lid and leave it.

A wine cooler will usually keep wine cool for a half day to a full day, or at least until you add in more ice. The cooler will keep the ice frozen so the wine you have sitting in it will always be kept chilled. It is just a matter of the ice slowly melting and so it will be liquefied or even evaporated and therefore will no longer be cooling your wine.

As long as you have an ample amount of ice so you can continue filling the wine cooler with it, then you will be okay. Make sure that you always bring enough ice when you are planning to be away from another means of cooling for an extended period of time, for instance if you are going camping.

Where to Buy

If you are interested in buying a wine cooler, you can generally find a basic one at your local winery or liquor store. Just make sure that you figure out the average number of bottles of wine you are going to need to store so that you get a cooler that is going to be large enough, and also take your budget into consideration here because some of these coolers can get pretty high in terms of cost.

You may even want to get a couple of these coolers, one for your home and one to take when you go out traveling.
