Celestial Seasonings

Celestial Seasonings is a very popular specialty tea company that originated in Colorado in 1969. Founder Mo Siegel gathered wild herbs in the forests and canyons of the Rocky Mountains near Aspen, Colorado to make healthy herbal teas. One day while exploring with friends and family near Boulder, Colorado, Mo and his friend, Wyck Hay, discovered a bountiful area full of wild herbs. This harvest produced five hundred pounds of Mo’s first herbal blend tea, “MO’s 36 Herb Tea”, which was packaged in hand sewn muslin bags and sold to a local health food store. Soon thereafter the entrepreneurs purchased an old barn in Boulder and began to purchase herbs in addition to herbs they harvested themselves, and expanded their market to include health food stores throughout Colorado, New Mexico, and the east coast. In 1972, Celestial Seasonings introduced “Red Zinger Herb Tea”, which remains one of the company’s best sellers.

Celestial Seasonings herb teas changed the way consumers perceived teas, which had been seen as only medicinal remedies. Teas from Celestial Seasonings were pleasant to drink, tasted good and were a refreshing modern alternative. Today, Celestial Seasonings is the largest herb tea manufacturer in North America, serving over 1.2 billion cups of tea annually. Celestial Seasonings has a variety of teas to choose from, including chai, wellness, organic, and green teas. Most teas are great hot or iced, or can be blended with milk or honey. The Celestial Seasonings chai and latte teas are a wonderful warm creamy treat premixed and packaged in a collectible tin. There is a special tea for everyone; we all have our favorites! For the dedicated tea drinker, there is no other choice but Celestial Seasonings herb teas.

Celestial Seasonings teas are available in nearly every retail health food and grocery store chain across the country. Visit the company’s website at www.celestialseasonings.com where you can learn all about the humble beginnings of Celestial Seasonings herb teas, and purchase a variety of herb teas online, some packaged in gift sets and collectible tins; a nice addition to your Celestial Seasonings collection. If you are near Boulder, Colorado, stop by the Celestial Seasonings corporate office on Sleepytime Drive and visit the Celestial Tea Shop & Emporium where you can purchase all Celestial Seasonings teas at a discount, in addition to Celestial Seasonings gifts and collectibles. A variety of specialty gourmet treats and aromatherapy bath and body products are also available. And don’t forget the onsite factory tour! Many visitors opt to take a fun and entertaining tour through the factory, which produces 8 million tea bags a day! Visit Celestial Seasonings online or call 1-303-581-1202 for more information. Enjoy!
