Guttate Psoriasis is Not Contagious and Can be Inherited

Bacterial Infection is the Leading Cause

Guttate psoriasis will most often occur due to bacterial infection and the lesions erupt on the skin about two to three weeks after the patient has strep throat, and outbreaks can come and go, particularly when the patient has a strep carrier. Anyone that has guttate psoriasis will also be likely to have considerably higher number of human leukocyte antigens BW17, B13 or CW6 than others.
