The First Step � Figure Out Your Skin Type

One of the most important steps is to figure out your skin type. You really cannot make any decisions for skin care unless you have done this, so make it one of the very first things you do. All you need to do is wash and pat dry your face, and then take a small piece of toilet paper or paper towel and hold it up against your forehead, then let go.

If the paper sticks to your skin then you have oily skin, if it falls right off your skin is dry, and if it stays for a minute but then falls off you have normal to combination skin.

The Second Step � Knowing Your Price

Because many skin care products are high priced, it is important to set out a budget for yourself, at least somewhat. After all, once it is gone you are going to have to buy more, so obviously you are going to want to find a product that is at least modestly priced so that you will not have to go broke every time you need more.

Setting out a budget is also going to help narrow down the selection for you. Rather than having thousands of different products to choose from you are only going to have those that fit within your budget, so this will help out a lot.

The Third Step � Shopping

This is the fun part. Now that you have determined what your best options are going to be you can actually get out and start shopping for your skin care products. Even with all of these precautionary measures you are still only going to be able to find the best product by doing some trial and error, until you find one that you love.

Taking the time and following the right steps to find the best skin care products is really important, and will help you stay looking young and healthy. Of course it can be hard what with the multitude of options these days but out of all these you can find one perfect for you.
