Perhaps one of the most efficient ways to get people to come to your business, or to use your services, is to advertise. There are a great many places to advertise, and a variety of prices from which to choose. Some larger businesses like to use television, but this may not be cost effective for a smaller, or newer, business. Some look to the newspaper and the radio as great places to advertise, while others go for a magazine advertisement.

The great thing about buying a magazine advertisement is that you can narrow your target audience down quite a bit, and you can be sure the right people are seeing your ad. There are magazines out there for just about anything you can think of, and you just have to pick the right one when buying your magazine advertisement spot. If you have a store devoted to children, you should advertise in a parenting magazine. At the same time, if you sell sports equipment, you can find any number of sports publications.

Probably one of the best places to place your magazine advertisement is in the first ten pages of the magazine. These are the most viewed, and the most expensive spots. If you can afford this approach, this is the way to go. If you can�t buy a whole page in the front, you may be able to get half a page that is still near the front of the magazine. When people read magazines, they tend to read the front pages more thoroughly than the rest. That is why it is important to get your ad near the front half of the magazine if at all possible.

Another thing to consider when placing your magazine advertisement is the physical location of your store or business. For example, if you have a store in Buffalo, NY, you can find a few regional magazines that are published for the western region of New York State only. These ads will be seen by your target market demographic, but will cost less than a spot in a national magazine.

Once you have decided when and where you want to place your magazine advertisement, talk to a sales person at that magazine about a discount or any specials they may be running. Many times you can get a discount if you buy more than one ad at a time. This may mean you have more than one ad in a particular issue, or that you agree to place one ad per month for a certain period of time.
