The workplace can be rather irksome at times, can't it? I mean, we're all expected to go to these buildings where we then separate into cubicles, and then supposedly get some work done. But in reality it's more like the film "Office Space." A dry, dull, redundant and tedious atmosphere that nearly pushes us over the edge. Okay, well maybe I'm being a tad extreme, but it can seem this poor at times. One of the biggest concerns involving our jobs is the people we work with. Sometimes we like them and sometimes we don't. That's just life. Now, these situations of like and dislike can often turn into something slightly worse. This may even call for conflict resolution in workplace. When you've hit this point, things can really change. Do you like your co-workers?
How do you deal with conflict resolution in workplace? Does your boss always intervene and make everything just dandy? O r do you take it upon yourself to do all the resolving? In most settings I've experienced, if you ever had a problem with your co-workers, you were supposed to immediately report it to your manager. This way you can look like a big whiny flake to the rest of the employees. Just joking! In reality it is often imperative to report difficulties and dilemmas in the workplace. I can still recall one particular incident that called for conflict resolution in workplace. It was back when I was in college and working for a big video chain, which I won't say the name. Let's just say they're Blockbuster's greatest adversary. Anyway, I worked with a variety of people, guys and girls, mostly of which were high school and college age. However, one of the older guys I was working with began to harass one of the younger girls. Now, beside the fact that she was only 17 and a high school student, you shouldn't be hitting on your fellow employees regardless. This is a rule we're all familiar with. It's taught from the beginning. Anyway, I advised her to tell the manager. Within the next few days we experienced "conflict resolution in workplace." This basically means the guy was fired. I in no way feel sorry for the bum. He should not be coming-onto other employees in the first place. Then there was the whole issue of her being underage, while he is over 30.
