As annoying as asphalt paving is when we are stuck in traffic, we certainly appreciate the results. The smooth roads are wonderful, and you may even curse when you come upon a part of the road that hasn’t been touched in a long time. Asphalt paving is a blessing and a curse, but you do have to keep your head about you. Shouting at the workers really isn't going to do you much good, and they may just laugh at you for your trouble. A lot of the work is done by machine, and you can’t hurry the machines much.

If you run into asphalt paving and you have to detour to the other side of the highway and slow down a bit, consider yourself lucky. Many people don’t realize that they have it easy! If you live in a rural area and you come upon asphalt paving, you will have to sit and wait. Because there are only two lanes, one going one way and the other for the other direction, they have to stop traffic to let the others go. This can mean you are sitting for ten minutes. If you’ve gone though that on a daily basis on the way to work for any amount of time, it makes slowing down to 45 seem like a dream.

If you like the look and feel of asphalt paving, you can get it done for your own driveway. In fact, if you have a long driveway, it would be highly recommended. I couldn’t begin to tell you how much it might cost you, but I would guess it might be cheaper than what you are thinking in your mind. If you don’t want to do asphalt paving you can always go with concrete. Concrete might give you some issues, but it might be better if you only have a small driveway to cover.
