aptitude test
You may, at some time, be asked if you want to take an aptitude test. You may have taken these in school without realizing what they were. These are great if you realize what they might tell you and what you can do with the information. I remember taking one of these when I was in the eighth grade, but I honestly couldn’t tell you what it said. I do remember being told I did well, but that was all I got from it. I wish I had access to that now, as it would be neat to compare it to what I do now. An aptitude test will give you clues to what you should do with your life, and this is very helpful to those who don’t seem to know what they want to be when they grow up, and also when someone wants a career change, but they aren’t sure what they want to do. You can even take an aptitude test when you have something in mind, but you aren’t sure if it is something you can handle. You can find out a lot about yourself after taking one.
I know that one I took about five years ago told me that I should be a writer. It gave me a few other things, but that was the one that stuck out to me. It uses specific questions to gage what your mind is the best at doing. There is a theory that some people are word people, and others are better with numbers and logic. I tend to agree with this, but only from observation. I can’t stand doing math, and many of the other writers I know tell me the same thing. At the same time, my husband, who is gift with math skills, has a hard time trying to write out what he is thinking.
You can find an aptitude test or two online, and you might have a lot of fun taking one. You may find that it tells you what you already know. You may think you could never be what it has listed for you, but you should understand that it is telling you that the basic skills are there, and you have a talent lying in that direction. You may not do anything with the information you get from an aptitude test, but you might enjoy taking it all the same.
