Drug Tests Aren’t Just for Athletes Anymore
When you are an athlete you want to take great care of your body. You want to be the biggest, best and strongest you can be. If you are on a team, you want everyone to notice you and to know just how good you are. You train and train for hours and don’t seek the help of anyone else. You want the fame and the fortune to be focused on you and your hard work. Some athletes though, will cheat and take shortcuts to being the best. They will use steroids and other injections to make them stronger and faster. Drug tests have been used for years now in professional sports to pinpoint who isn’t succeeding based on their own merit. Typically sports officials have used human urine or blood to tell whether or not a person has traces of drugs in them. These aren’t just for athletes, but they do play a huge role in it. Criminals will get tested for drugs to see if they need to spend more time in jail or they use the information to further investigate a crime. These drug tests are also used in some workplaces as employers don’t want their employees coming to work under the influence of something. They have every right to test anyone they want, especially if they have reason to believe that someone is using drugs. Many people will actually be required to have blood or urine drug tests before they will be offered a position, particularly if the job they’ll be doing is based on safety.
Famous athletes aren’t the only ones targeted, but youngsters are as well. Junior hockey, baseball and football teams are tested to determine if they are using drugs. The drug tests are used to see what athletes are getting in shape the right way and which ones are doing it inappropriately. Coaches and board members want these young people safe and healthy and to not do damage to their bodies. They should be playing their sport for fun and to win, not to cause permanent harm to their bodies.
The best way to pass random tests like these, are to stay clean. No one has any reasons to take drugs. Steroids will bulk you up, but they won’t make you stronger. They have negative effects on your body that most people don’t take into consideration inhibiting injections aren’t any good either. If you have injured your shoulder, then you should be sitting as you don’t want to do any further damage to your body. People need to think of the long term effects when taking drugs and they usually don’t. There is the possibility of becoming addicted to something that could affect your life forever.
It’s important to remember that in order to stay healthy, you’ve got to be prudent about any chemicals you’re putting in your body. Also, with anyone having the ability to buy drug tests now, you could be tested by your coach, your employer or even your parent, at anytime. Stay clear of drugs and you won’t have anything to ever worry about.
