There is nothing more frustrating than getting a traffic speeding ticket. Although there are many traffic violations, usually when you get a ticket for one you feel somewhat at fault. For example, if you blow a traffic red light or a stop sign, fail to use your turn signal, or veer out of your lane, It makes sense for a cop to stop you. With traffic speeding tickets, however, it is different.

That is why I decided to fight my traffic speeding ticket when I last got one. It felt like such a fundamental injustice that I was determined to go against it. In the past, I had never fought back, but this time I was ready. I psyched myself up for it. I would give an impassioned defense, wowing everyone in the courtroom and winning the judge over to my side. I knew that they had used profiling to write my traffic violation, and although I may have been breaking the law by going a few miles per hour over the speed limit, I didn't deserve to be punished when everyone else who was doing the same thing got off without any consequences.

As it turns out, beating the traffic speeding ticket was much easier than I had imagined. The cop didn't even show up! There I was, pacing back and forth dramatically and ready to give the judge a passionate defense, and the case was over before it even started! I was just glad that I got to win. I didn't really care how my victory came about, as long as I didn't have to pay that speeding traffic ticket.
