Bathroom Curtains

You may have seen a bathroom like the one I am about to describe. It was somewhat unique, but perhaps there are more like them. I once worked for a maid service, and we cleaned an apartment that was above a business. The apartment belonged to the person that owned the business, and they had it open so they could see the work area below. While we were cleaning, we had to use his bathroom if we needed to use one, and it was a very unsettling experience. There were no bathroom curtains and I felt totally exposed.

The walls of the bathroom were made of glass. It was the type of glass that you really can�t see though, but you can see vague shapes and colors through it if you walk by and someone is in there. There were no bathroom curtains to speak of, and if someone really wanted to watch you use the restroom, they could. I could not for the life of me understand why someone would want to have this type of bathroom and not have some sort of bathroom curtains put up, especially with workers milling around downstairs. They could see up into the apartment if they wanted to, and yes, they could even see into part of the bathroom. Even parts of the floor in some of the rooms were made of glass. There was no privacy whatsoever.

I cleaned that apartment many times, but only used the restroom once, and that was because I had no choice. It was a very cool place, but without the bathroom curtains, I just couldn�t deal with it. Ever since then I have a problem using a restroom that has no bathroom curtains, even if I am sure no one can see what I am doing. I don�t care what kind of glass or window covering there is, I am still paranoid to the point where I have to go somewhere else.

If you have restroom like this, do your guest a favor and have bathroom curtains. They don�t cost very much, and they will give everyone peace of mind. Using the restroom is one of the most personal things a person can do, and if you feel exposed, you are going to feel it deeply. Bathroom curtains are always a good idea, and you may even find that you will feel better about your bathroom if you have them. You may have been feeling anxious and you may not realize it until you take the source of the anxiety away.
