Wiring Money
Though wiring money used to be something that was a welcome alternative when someone needed money in a hurry, it has become something to be wary of. If you are sending money to a friend or a relative that needs help fast, wiring money is still a great way to go about is as long as you don’t mind the fees. There are however, many scams that have popped up all over the Internet. Most of these will ask you if you would be willing to wire your payment rather than pay with a credit card or even a check. If this happens to you, you should think twice about what is going on. Most scam artists love to get you to wire money because it is, for the most part, untraceable once it has been picked up, and there is no way for you to get your money back once you figure out that you have been taken. This has given wiring money a bad rap, but this is something that everyone should know about. If you are doing a transaction with someone online, and they ask you to wire money to them for your payment, you had better forget it and run the other way. I can almost guarantee that you will never see your money or whatever it was they promised you ever again.
If you are on eBay and someone tells you that you must go about wiring money to him or her in order to pay for an auction item, you should immediately report it to eBay. I’m not totally sure, but I believe this is no longer allowed on eBay due to the large numbers of scams. May people do fake auctions and then tell you that you can get your item quicker if you choose wiring money to them. If this comes from someone in a third world country, you can almost be sure it’s a scam. If they cannot take Paypal, credit card, check or money order, you have to wonder why that might be. Wiring money is a great way to get your money and disappear.
There are other scams in other places that use wiring money as a sure fire way to get away with scamming you. You may be offered something over the telephone or perhaps find that you get an email with an offer that is too good to be true. All you have to do is hurry and wire your money as fast as you can or the transaction will be lost. Any legitimate sale will not insist on your wiring money ASAP before all is lost. If they try to hurry you, you should know that this is another sign that you should look elsewhere.
