Trivia Games

There have been trivia games around for as long as I can remember. When I was in sixth grade, we had a free period once a week, and you could pick what activity you wanted to do. Because I had moved and come into that school in the middle of the year, I had to take what was left. All of the spots in the fun activities were taken, so I had to play Trivial Pursuit. I enjoy playing the game, don’t get me wrong, but I would have rather been outside playing ball or something. I did meet a few new friends this way, so I guess it wasn’t so bad after all.

Trivial Pursuit is the most popular of the trivia games that have come along in my lifetime. The original was too hard for some people, so they have made different versions. Some are for kids, and others have a theme like 80s pop culture, and there are some that are all about one TV show. My family refuses to play any of these games with my husband because there is just no way to beat him. These trivia games remain popular, but they are definitely not the only way to go if you enjoy trivia.

Perhaps the most sought after of trivia games might be Jeopardy. This is for a very simple reason. If you are good at trivia games, you can win a lot of money. Since the rules of Jeopardy have changed, a player can remain on the show indefinitely if they continue to win. Imagine how much money you could accumulate if you are really good at trivia games! In reality, a lot of TV game shows use trivia for their answers, but Jeopardy is by far the most popular and has been around for a very long time. Perhaps I should send my husband out to try out for Jeopardy because he seems so good at it.

If you enjoy trivia games, but don’t see yourself on Jeopardy any time soon, that doesn’t mean you can’t continue to play. You may have to forget about winning money, but there are plenty of trivia games out there. There are a lot of them online that you can play by yourself, or some that you can play against other players online. You can find them almost anywhere you find online games. Some are free, and some require a paid membership, but you may win money this way, but probably not large amounts like on Jeopardy.
