I guess I started thinking more and more about retirement planning when my dad told me that he only had five years before he was going to retire. I realized that my mother and my stepfather would also soon be old enough to retire, and it made me wonder about their finances. Though I know my father was very good about retirement planning, I don’t think my mother and my stepfather gave it much thought. I have a feeling that life is going to be rough for them in their golden years, and this makes me very sad. I wish that they have thought more about playing the retirement while they were younger.

Retirement planning might be something as simple as putting away money. You don’t have to invest in the stock market to save for your retirement, though there are many people that will tell you this is the best way to ensure a comfortable nest egg for your future. If you can only say five or ten dollars a week, it is important that you do so. Keeping money in a savings account will allow you to earn interest, and once that balance reaches a certain amount, transfer the balance to a money market account to make even more money.

If you have questions about retirement planning, as many people do, you will want to go into your bank to talk to someone. Let them know that you are interested in saving money for your retirement, and that you have no idea what you are doing. They will have many plans in place to help you with retirement planning, and they will know what will work best for you. It might be even simpler than you ever imagined. Just make sure that you are taking advantage of every opportunity out there, so that you may enjoy your retirement in peace. I can’t imagine retiring and having to worry about money day in and day out. By that time in my life, I should have earned the opportunity to relax.
