Buying a star is something that people tend to do when they can’t seem to find anything else to get someone, or they are looking for something very romantic. It is also something that one might do when they are grieving. There is something comforting about buying a star in memory of someone you have just lost. You can be sure you think of them fondly whenever you look up at the night sky and see the stars twinkling down at you.

When you are buying a star you should look around. There are many different places that do this, and that should be your first clue. How can there be so many places? How you do you know you are buying a star that someone else has not bought at a different company? You don’t. No one has a right to sell you a star to begin with, and if they did, wouldn’t you think that it would cost you more than thirty dollars to buy one? It’s a symbolic gift only, and if you want to do it, look for a company that has a good reputation and that gives the money to charity or research.

Buying a star is definitely something fun, but you don’t want to do it all the time. When it comes time to give a gift there are better things you can do with your money. If you are buying a star for someone, make sure it’s not the only gift you are giving him or her. It is romantic and it is dreamy, but it’s not anything that is tangible. The thought is great, but it is something that should be an extra. Those buying a star can bring great comfort to a grieving family, however, and perhaps this is the best time to do so.
