Birth Stone Rings

Though I have always loved jewelry, I remember the first real jewelry that I had was a set of birth stone rings. There were three of them, but they were not meant to be worn together. I got these from my aunt for a birthday when I was ten, and I loved to have them. I ended up losing two of them, but I still have one of them in my jewelry box. I have no idea how I managed to hang on to one of them, but I still have it. It is too small for me now, but that doesn’t mean that I can’t keep it. Perhaps I will give it to my daughter one day.

The best thing about birth stone rings is that they don’t have to cost a lot of money to have a lot of meaning. Most young girls will get something with their birth stone in their younger years, but much of it will end up being lost. Some choose to have something like this for their class ring instead of ordering something through the school. They will have something made special in place of what they think is an unattractive ring, and have it done with their birth stone, much like those class rings.

Some even like to have birth stone rings for their engagement rings rather than diamonds. This might be for a young couple that does not have a lot of money and that is very practical. They might get the birth stone rings to save money, and then perhaps buy a diamond on down the road when they have more money to spare. This is something that is actually very smart. Though the diamond is tradition, going into debt to pay for it when you can’t afford it should not be something that anyone does. I know I would not want to feel guilty about a heavy debt each time I looked at my hand.

Birth stone rings are also great gifts. My mother wants one with the stones of each of her children and her granddaughter. They don’t have to be mother’s rings either. If you are stuck on what to buy a woman, she will most likely love to get birth stone rings. This is, of course, if you keep her style in mind. Don’t buy her silver if she loves gold, and make sure she wears jewelry at all before you buy her one. They don’t have to cost a lot of money to be great gifts. If you do choose to buy one in lieu of a diamond, make sure you talk with your bride-to-be about it first so she knows why you have made the choice you made.
