Audio software has done a lot for the recording industry. Most obviously, it his given people many new options. Nowadays, audio engineering is more complex and varied than ever before. There are dozens and dozens of audio sound recording programs, as well as analog and digital audio equipment to master. The best audio engineers even know a little bit of programming, allowing them to set up special customized effects when they need them. A lot of the stuff can be learned on the job, but the more you learn in your audio engineering program, the better qualified you will be. Nevertheless, it is certainly not too much for one person to learn. In a few years of audio engineering classes, as a matter of fact, you can master all of the basic principles. You can learn everything about acoustics, sound recording programs, studio mixers and microphones, and even techniques to remix and restore old or flawed recordings. It is one of the most creative, exciting fields out there, and a really great place to start if you have always wanted a music career.
