Community College is Another Option
Do you dread heading off to college for 4 long years? Okay, first of all, you should know that it's not that bad. College can be a great and wondrous new experience for anyone. Probably the most ideal time to go is immediately after high school. This way you have ample time to complete your degree and no responsibilities weighing you down. It's just you and the university. Or maybe you're considering a community college. Hey, don't dismiss this high education option. There's nothing wrong with choosing a community college in the beginning or for a great two-year degree. There are many perks to attending a junior college over a larger university. Some folks wonder about higher education as they finish up high school. This is perfectly normal. More than likely your parents are telling you to go straight to college and get that degree. However, they may not be discussing all of your options with you. For example, have they told you about the benefits of a community college? One aspect of a community school or technical college is the cost. Generally the tuition fees at a university are much higher than those at a community college. In addition, many local community schools offer great two-year degrees. Again, these are sometimes better for the career you're seeking. It all depends on what you wish to do with your life. Maybe a two-year nursing degree is exactly what you're after.
Community colleges offer university transfer programs. What this basically means is that you can attend college at a community school for the first two years and get the basic courses out of the way, and then you can transfer into a major university to choose a major and tackle it on a more traditional campus. The big benefit here is that you'll save a lot of money completing your first two years at the community college. So, take your time when you seek out options for higher learning. Maybe you'll want to go straight to a university and maybe you'll prefer to begin with a community college. The wonderful thing is, the choice is all yours!
