Adopt An Anti Depression Life Style

The stress of the modern world has brought about a lot of stress related diseases such as blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes, and the latest on the list of “popularity” is depression. This malady is a silent killer, because it moves swiftly and almost without any immediate symptoms; all of a sudden the person affected commits suicide and a valuable life is lost.

Yoga – The Anti Depression Style Of Living

Yoga is catching up very fast in the West as a model way of living both physically and mentally. Yoga is so designed that it will push all the right buttons to have the person totally cured of depression and all other maladies one may have. Yoga has been found to trigger and increase Alpha and Theta waves which are responsible for relaxation and nice dreams.

Yoga also helps in the release of the cortisone hormone, which most of the time acts as an anti depression agent. As and when this hormone is produced, the effects of depression are almost always reversed.

There are many asanas which act as anti depression triggers. If these asanas are done every day – it will bring about a new life style; a life style which is totally free of any depression. This is because yoga relaxes the body and mind and hence promotes good health both mentally and physically.

For people who find yoga a handful, they will be glad to know that the market is full with anti depression medication. However, though it is terribly tempting, never consume over the counter anti depression pills/ medication. This is extremely dangerous and not meant to be experimented with. In case you take the wrong medicines or in the wrong dosages, there can be massive disasters.

Always medicate yourself only after you consulted a doctor. Only the doctor will be able to tell you the right dosage. I have known people who have taken this particular advice as a joke with very bad consequences. Depression can lead to suicide if not checked in time. Hence, it is very important that it is rather prevented than cured.

Prevention is possible only when you learn to read the early depression indicative symptoms. These signs are, (i) detachment from things that previously you liked; (ii) there is total restlessness and aloofness which does not correspond with the nature of the person in question (iii) continuous mention of suicide and talk about death, (iv) lack of sleep and/ or (v) lack of appetite.
