College Dating

I didn’t know what to think when I went to college. I had a few boyfriends here and there when I was in high school, but I honestly didn’t have enough time to be serious about anyone. I never really found anyone I wanted to serious about anyway. I was enjoying being young, but I wasn’t about to give up going to college for a guy. I just kept my distance. I was semi serious with a guy after I graduated from high school, but he always knew I was going to college no matter what. He turned out to be a loser, so it was a great relief when I went off and left him behind. When I got to my new life though, I had to figure out what college dating was all about.

When you start college you may be feeling freedom for the first time. When it comes to college dating you have to remember that almost everyone else is enjoying that freedom for the first time as well, and you may not find many people who want to get right down to business and get serious right away. I fell for a guy immediately when I got there, and thankfully he kept me at a distance. We were good friends, but he knew he would be leaving long before me, and he didn’t want anything serious. That’s how it goes with college dating, and after that I was convinced I wanted to be free.

Life has a strange way of changing your mind though. After that guy left I started dating a few different guys, though not all at once. I took full advantage of the college dating etiquette and went out with a few guys that I liked but it did go much further than a few dates. I was having more fun hanging out with my friends, and I was enjoying life too much to be too worried about college dating and finding the man of my dreams.

He snuck up on me three months after I decided that I wanted to keep things light. He was of the same mind as me. He wasn’t looking for anything serious, and he thought college dating should just be for fun as well. We were both wrong. I think we both fought it for a while, but in the end we just figured out that we were what the other was looking for, even though we weren’t really looking. We have been together for twelve years now, and we haven’t looked back. Before you make up your final rules about college dating just remember that life might have different plans.
