Though larger companies and corporations always give their employees some sort of customer service training, many smaller businesses don’t think to do it. When it comes to relating to the public, it is essential that everyone who works for you knows how to deal with customers and how to keep them coming back. There are simple rules they can follow, but you might be surprised to know that most employees have no idea what they are doing. If you own a small business, it is in your best interest to make this a part of your hiring process. Even employees who won’t expect to deal with people need to have some sort of customer service training. You can never say never. Even if they are working in the back or perhaps even on the books, there many come a time when they have to talk to or deal with a customer. If that happens, you are going to start losing customers right and left. This is especially true if you have a business that hires a lot of young people. They will be the first that need customer service training. It’s not because they are stupid or trying to hurt your business though, just remember they may not have enough life experience to guide them in the right direction.
