Customer Service is Appreciated
Most customers truly appreciate it when they are shown superior customer service. Customers expect to be treated with respect and while many don’t mind complaining when they are not, those same customers often will call attention to the employee who is customer service oriented. It is imperative that employees and business owners realize what an impact on their customers and on their business customer service has. Many customers will actually go out of their way to patronize a business where they are treated well as opposed to patronizing a business that while cheaper or more convenient, doesn’t practice good customer service skills.
There are companies famous today for their customer service skills as well as companies famous for the lack of these skills. It is interesting to see the dollar signs behind the ones that are famous for treating their customers well as this has a tremendous impact on any company’s bottom line.
While it can be a challenge sometimes to deliver excellent customer service to a difficult customer, doing so can literally turn that customer from a difficult one to our number one customer. If employees will realize that customer service actually makes their job easier and more pleasant in the long run, they will be more inclined to make that investment.
While there will always be some customers no one can please, the vast majority of customers are reasonable people and just want to be treated well. Once we are in the habit of delivering excellent customer service to each and every customer it will become second nature and we won’t even have to think about it. This in turn, will cut down on the amount of difficult customers we encounter in the first place.
