Baggy Jeans

I was crossing the city street this morning and saw this young man walking on the sidewalk. As I fell into step behind him, I resisted the overwhelming urge to pull his baggy jeans up as high as I possibly could. I have a feeling that had I not been able to resist the urge, his baggy jeans may have reached up to his armpits. I can tell that I'm getting older when I don't understand the fashion trends that exist around me. I do not have a clue what someone would want to wear such baggy jeans that they have to walk around holding them up. It can't be comfortable. I also don't understand why these same individuals have this need to wear oversized T-shirts that could fit an entire neighborhood of people inside of one shirt. My daughter told me that sometimes it is a gang thing. I just don't understand it.

I love wearing baggy jeans. However, my idea of baggy jeans simply means that they are not as tight as normal and easily slide down over any boots or shoes that I may be wearing. I have certain brands of jeans that I know will fit a certain way and will purchase only that brand. Baggy jeans are usually only for comfort as they certainly cannot attribute to showing off anyone's figure. I don't plan on impressing anyone when I'm wearing my baggy jeans. However, the guys out there who are holding their pants up certainly aren't impressing anyone either. I'm the first to admit, if you're wearing baggy jeans that go way beyond being baggy, I'm likely to judge you. If you're walking towards me and you have on a shirt that comes down past your knees and baggy jeans that are being held up, I'm not going to make eye contact. It isn't always necessarily that I think you're a thug, or attempting to be one, but I might also be tempted to tell you how pathetic you look.

Baggy jeans are also a prime necessity when you're trying to shoplift. Don't deny it - it is the reason why many people wear way too baggy jeans when they go shopping. Imagine all of the stuff they can stuff down there and no one would ever have a clue. Quite honestly, no one is interested in even looking to see what's down their baggy jeans. If they are desperate enough to dress that pathetic and steal things, well, I suppose they deserve some level of sympathy. However, you won't receive any from me. If you want to wear baggy jeans, at least make sure you have a belt to hold them up.
