Safety for children begins at home. I know that I think about it a lot, but I am never quite sure what to say. I talk to my daughter about strangers all the time, but she cannot quite understand what I am saying. She thinks that if someone tells her their name that they are no longer a stranger. You may feel like a broken record, but that is what you have to do to get things to settle in their mind. There are tricks and tips out there that can help make discussing safety for children with your entire family. You may even want to go to the library or the book store to find books on the subject that may explain things better than you can. This is one area where you can use all the help you can get.
