Every woman loves to find a fragrance that fits here to a tee. It might be a floral scent or a musky mixture but finding a brand name perfume that she loves is the goal. There area few things to do to real that point and it usually starts out at the fragrance counter in a local store.

Unless you have a small fortune to toy with, you probably can’t afford to purchase every perfume that you think you might like. All women have found a brand name perfume sample in a magazine and thought that it was their one true fragrance. Although it might smell spectacular when you first open it but with the small amount given, it’s almost impossible to tell whether it will smell good on you.

If you do happen to find a sample that you think has potential, take it with you to the perfume counter of a nearby department store and ask them if you can try a sample. Try to go there fragrance free so you can spray the brand name perfume on your pulse points. Then do a little shopping for about an hour and see how you smell. If the perfume mixes well with your body oils you’ll probably want to pick up a bottle. If the fragrance isn’t what you expected you can keep looking for something more appropriate.

The sample principle should be in place if you are simply walking into the store with no idea what you want. Allow the salesperson to help you, he or she is experienced in working with different fragrances and can help you narrow down the choices. They’ll probably offer you a small square or rectangular card with a sample of a brand name perfume on it. You can give it a quick sniff and see if it’s something that you might find intriguing.

Again, try the scent on your own skin and give it a few moments to sink in. You’ll know within a few minutes if the perfume is going to work for you.

When you do find a fragrance that you like consider purchasing other items that carry the same scent. Many brand name perfume manufacturers also produce body lotions, bath creams and powder that has the same scent. These work well when you want to carry a bit of the fragrance without the strength of the actual perfume. They are also a wonderful way to layer the scent. You can take a bath in the perfume scented oil and then spray on the fragrance.

You’ll probably find that you’ll want to wear the same scent for months if not years. When we find something that works well for us, change can be difficult. So if you find a brand name perfume you like, consider buying more than one bottle. Perfumes do go out of style and if you adore the one you wear, you don’t want to run short.
