Many people make the mistake of starting out with a weight training program before they get into a routine of regular exercise and fitness. They think that getting into a weight training exercise program will make them look better, faster than doing something for their heart. There is no worse mistake that you can make than this if your goal is to get fit. The fact is that a good exercise routine is much more important than a weight training program. If you start on a weight training program without taking the time to warm up, limber up, and get your heart pumping, you are practically asking to get injured in your exercises. You might bulk up a little bit from your weight training program, but you will get very little health benefit from it, and it could result in you getting stiffer and less flexible as well.
That being said, if you want to strengthen up and feel good about yourself, a good weight lifting exercise program can be just what the doctor ordered, as the saying goes. When combined with healthy diet and good exercise, a weight training program can help you feel more energized, burn fat more efficiently, and best of all, look a whole lot better. Take it from me. I used to have a horrible time finding a day, but since I became very serious about my weight training program, I can not keep the girls away. I have to beat them off with a stick, literally. I spent the night in jail over it just last weekend. But fun and joking aside, there are some things that you should know before you really get into your weight training program. First of all, you need to find a good program. There are many weight training programs online which will tell you how to combine different exercises for maximum effect. Although some of these are very good, the best weight training program is one that you come up with talking one on one with a professional about all of your fitness goals. If you have the right person to talk to, they can help you create a weight training program that is custom fit for you and your needs, as well as your time constraints. Even if you can not afford to have your weight training program created by a pro, you should at least talk to a friend who has been working out for a while to show you the ropes.
