2003 Cadillac Escalade
Cadillac, as part of General Motors, responded to the demand for SUVs (Sport Utility Vehicles), by launching the Escalade in 1999. It's full size and in the luxury end of the market. The company wanted to have something to compete with their rival Ford and with the successful Japanese and German SUV industry. The basic model is built in Arlington, Texas. The 2003 Cadillac Escalade has had some modifications added. The Escalade is something of a gas guzzler and is attacked by people concerned with the environment, along with other SUVs. You've really got to want to have one as parts are expensive. The 2003 Cadillac Escalade and other year models are very fashionable amongst show business and sports personalities. The Miami Heat basketball star Shaquille O'Neal drives one. Rock stars like them too, as Fieldy from Korn and Gene Simmons from Kiss both own one. They are often shown in videos by hip hop artists, which make them even more of a status symbol. Comic actor Bernie Mac drives one on his show. The downside to this is that car thieves like them too.
Many owners like to have their vehicles customized in some way and this is very true for owners of the 2003 Cadillac Escalade and other models. Some people like to have the engine tuned to race conditions or they may want retro style big wheels. The ultimate customization is the paint job where owners can really express themselves.
There are three choices in the SUV range. Choosing which model will be determined by personal taste, what you need the vehicle for and the cost. The 2003 Cadillac Escalade and other year models are available in the standard Escalade Wagon model or the Escalade EXT Pick Up Truck. There is also the Escalade ESV which came onto the market as a 2003 Cadillac Escalade. This one is the most expensive of the three and has a longer base.
Cadillac are always looking for ways to improve and upgrade their vehicles. They know that many of their customers are serious about the performance and look of their SUVs. The 2003 Cadillac Escalade has Rear Wheel Drive as standard, with a 4 Wheel Drive option. There are options on the engines too and you can have a 5.3L V8 or High-Output Vortec 6000 V8. The stability control system was improved for the 2003 Cadillac Escalade to a 4 Wheel system and power assisted pedals were another addition.
The EXT Pick Up Truck was introduced into the range to give the 2003 Cadillac Escalade another version. It seats five people and has four doors. It comes standard with a High-Output 6.0L engine.
