Appliance stores
Buying a washer or dryer, refrigerator or a stove can sometimes be a challenge. It seems like there is an appliance store every few miles or major department stores that sell appliances. In my daily newspapers, it seems like there are constantly sales on appliances, interest-free programs and sometimes even no payments for a certain amount of time. I never truly know what is a good deal and what just seems like a good deal. All of the salespeople in every store seem to be determined to push you into buying from them and from their store. I know that a great deal of them get commissions on what they sell or have a quota to meet every month, but I can't stand being pushed. If I feel pressured, I don't buy or else I panic and buy the first thing that I came across. Out of all of the large appliance stores that I've ever been inside of, Home Depot is probably my first choice. Of course, the Home Depot in my county is very nice and organized. The salespeople are all incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. Perhaps not every area is as lucky as I am. However, when I was looking through various appliance stores a few years ago when I'd bought my first house, I found that I was the most comfortable in their store. The salesman that I'd had was very helpful but didn't seem to be pushy in the least. He gave me the information that I wanted, told me his name, and where to find him if I decided that I was ready to purchase. Unlike other appliance stores that I'd been in the same day, a salesperson didn't find it necessary to follow me from aisle to aisle watching my every move. I think that shoppers can make better decisions in that sort of atmosphere. Unlike some other appliance stores as well, the store was laid out in a very organized and easy to understand manner. I'd spent too much time wandering aimlessly around other appliance stores before I figured anything out or any salespeople even bothered to approach me. I wasn't thrilled with having to visit appliance stores in the first place, I could think of a million other things that I would rather have been doing.
One of the other appliance stores that I actually was a bit fond of was Lowe's. They too, were organized and helpful, reminding me quite a bit of Home Depot. The stores were incredibly similar in offerings, prices and layouts. I ended up returning to the Home Depot to purchase my appliances as they were offering a year of no interest and six months of no payments. That just seemed too good to pass up. Once I'm ready to start painting, I have a feeling I'll be returning once again.
