Bar Promotions

Everything is a hard sell these days, even a night out at your favorite bar. They like to have bar promotions now in an attempt to get even more of our money. Two drinks for one is a popular one and most bars run some sort of happy hour. They may select a different drink a night to push. There are products used in this marketing strategy, such as cocktail sets or tee shirts. Sometimes they'll give a shot away and hope you buy the whole bottle. There are bar promotions on meals too.

The UK is suffering from an increased amount of binge drinking at the moment. There is growing concern over the nightly throng of people getting into trouble in city centers after drinking sessions. The police are called upon to break up fights and keep the peace. The hospitals struggle to cope with the amount of drink related incidents that send people thru their doors. There is a call to the government to step in and do something about the situation. One solution is to clamp down on bar promotions, which some people think, encourages excessive drinking.

It's human nature to want something for nothing and it's easy to understand how some people end up drinking more than they should. This is having a big social effect, and is keeping a lot of people out of the cities at night. Friday and Saturday nights are the worse, when people go from the pubs to the nightclubs. Sometimes, people will try a drink they've not had before as a result of bar promotions. Some of these new products they push are pretty lethal concoctions, based around spirits. They're not used to the potency and they end up having too much.

Drink related road traffic accidents are another cause of concern. Bar owners are being asked to have more sense of responsibility for their actions. A lot of modern bars are designed to get the most number of people in as possible. Some of them have actually taken seats out, in order to get more people in. They have a drink, mellow out, and want to carry on. A lot of bar promotions are aimed at students who naturally want to stretch their limited funding.

While this practice carries on, there will be people rolling in the gutter and some will be spoiling for a fight. Some would argue that civil liberties shouldn't be interfered with, but someone always has to clear the mess up. Bar promotions have consequences and they're not always pretty.
