Natural Acne Treatment Options

Anyone who suffers from acne is well aware of the hundreds of treatment products on the market. Everything from lotions and creams to surgery is available, and they all claim to be the solution you're looking for.

However, there is another form of treatment that has been gaining popularity in recent years. Many people have had success with various forms of natural acne treatment. This type of treatment ranges from herbal components to fruits and vegetables to many other items that you may already have around your home. Here are some of the most often used natural acne treatments.

Herbal Acne Treatment

There are dozens of herbs that have been used to treat acne. One of the most popular and effective of these is tea tree oil. This is a substance that comes from the Melaleuca alternifoliais tree in Australia. Tea tree oil contains Terpenes, which is very effective for killing the harmful bacteria that is responsible for causing acne.

Green tea is another form of natural acne treatment that has proven to be quite effective. Green tea has been known to help flush out the toxins in the body that can cause acne. It can also ease the discomfort of inflammation and help balance hormonal issues that sometimes cause breakouts.

Green tea can be ingested as a drink or in pill form. Other herbs, such as burdock, red clover, and yarrow are also good for detoxification when made into teas. Some of these can even be ground up and made into a paste for application directly on the skin.

Dietary Treatment

One of the best forms of natural acne treatment involves changes to your diet. Some of the foods we eat can contribute to the onset of acne. At the same time, acne can be prevented and treated with certain foods. The first thing you want to do is make sure you are drinking plenty of water. This will help to rid your body of harmful toxins and bacteria that are known to cause acne outbreaks.

Cutting out some of the dairy products and sugar from your diet will help reduce the effects of acne as well. These products will work against your immune system, making it hard for your skin to fight off the bacteria that causes acne. Adding more fruits and vegetables to your diet will not only decrease your risk of developing acne, it will improve your overall health as well. This natural acne treatment will give your body the vitamins and minerals that are necessary for healthy skin. Vitamins A, B, C and E, as well as zinc have been linked to the prevention of acne.

There are many other forms of natural acne treatment as well. Some people have had good results from applying the skins of certain fruits to the affected area. Many of the herbs that are used for the treatment of acne are now finding their way onto the shelves of health and nutrition stores. Always look for skin care and acne treatment products that are made from the most natural ingredients.
